Supposedly, there are nearly 22,000 caves in this country. Los Tres Ojos (the three waterholes) were habited by natives around 500 years ago. The first waterhole contains calcium and other minerals. The second, called ‘La Nevera’ (the refrigerator) is very cold because the sun doesn’t reach it. You can look down and see the bottom. To get to the third, you have to sail across the second. There used to be a crocodile in the third one, but it died, and its rests remain in a local museum. The water is still full small tingly fish, they tickle you if you enter your feet! The only bad news is that it is prohibited to swim. Still, great place to visit and admire nature!
